Some people will roll their eyes if when analyzing a story, you begin a statement by saying, “Well, if you view it as a metaphor…” But, fuck them, it’s fun to open these things up and see how draw parallels between a narrative and how life is actually lived. The latest Ari Aster film Midsommar is a dream in many ways, and considering the inspiration for that dream helps clarify some of the ideas present in the story… continued.
